2326 Ashland Ave is a Victorian-era house from around 1900, from the years when East Walnut Hills was filling in with the homes it is still known for. It has since been renovated and divided into three apartments, keeping the wraparound porch and original woodwork.
East Walnut Hills grew out of a small German Catholic community around St. Francis de Sales Church, founded in 1849. It was incorporated as the Village of Woodburn in the 1860s and annexed by Cincinnati in 1873. Most of its housing went up in the early 20th century, in styles running from Queen Anne to Tudor Revival, and its tree canopy is dense enough that the neighborhood is known as an urban forest. The shops and restaurants of DeSales Corner and Eden Park are both close by.
